These Open Fields is the second official full-length release from The Flashbulb. The album displays a significant maturation from the first release, M³. This is most likely because the album has a centralized theme, unlike the playful experimentation of M³. Its dark, evocative tone is drawn from its being inspired by the death of Jordan's grandfather, who played a very important role in his life, and his subsequent dealing with his loss through composition.
