Formed in '06 The Electric Age are one of Dublin’s most original live acts. Their sound, which draws from rock, alternative, punk, psychedelic, metal, and blues music, is an arresting raw calling with some of the catchiest beats, grooves, riffs and solos around, "a perfect antidote to the current indie candyfloss", according to HotPress. To date the band have, amongst others, stomped the stages of Vicar Street, The Button Factory and The Sugar Club. Their debut recording, the three tracks "The Penthouse Massacre EP" received favorable reviews, most notably from Jackie Hayden who drew comparisons with early Velvet Underground & The Ramones, citing "we need more of this sort of thing". Currently recording a new crop of tunes with a view to completion of an album next year, The Electric Age continue to remain part of Dublin's live circuit and never turn down the opportunity to play to a live audience.
