The melody is amazing and the slide guitar accents it perfectly. Decemberists aren't the most technically incredible band but they can do some really beautiful instrumentation
i fell in love with this song on my first listen
utterly gorgeous *-*
so perfect *
beautiful. just listened to it for the first time too
does the chick have down syndrome? pics make me believe so.
I love lovely nights :)
For anyone that doesn't know, a French term for an orgasm is 'La petite mort' and the translation lends itself to 'Here we died our little deaths'. Lovely metaphor.
eveliom you're right these guys always remind me of pirate music.... this song is good even though i prefer their precedent albums better.
This would make a nice wedding song. It's a waltz, after all...
hmph. love pirate music, this is a bit soft though. Argh!
isn't it a lovely song?
Anything with accordion wins me over.
Such a dreamy song.
Love this song. It's so beautiful. They repetition of sounds (assonance, alliteration, cossonance, etc) is wonderful poetry.
I didn't care for this song all that much until I saw them perform it live. Now I LOVE it!
I like the accordian, but I'm pulled out of the story every time they say babe
ugh, so syrupy. it's the "A Whole New World" of Decemberists songs.
the backing at the end sounds a bit like something from mario kart
...i can feel, i can see, the stars, the fireflies, the breeze...wow! such a beautiful song for the spring...
wow! it's so cute! :¬)
