what an awful comparison. hearing monotonous trumpets all the time does mean that you do not hear melody at all. New album sucks because they use same 3-4 licks in slightly different variations all over the album and that is what makes it very monotonous and boring to death.

have you ever listened to the blues songs they are covering? that's what OG hill country blues is. I get that it feels long due to that, but that's how listening to any roots blues album/compilation is like. Its not specific to this album.

A band should be able to put out an album like this every now and then. They have a bunch of other albums that float around different sounds. This one has a mood and it sticks with it and I respect it.
