Biography

The Antitones is a recently (c. 2017) formed jazz-fusion band from Rockford, Illinois. Drawing from an eclectic variety of musical styles ranging from: hip-hop, blues, funk, swing, afro-cuban, to jazz, this ten-piece group provides something to listen to for everyone in the audience. The members of the band are: Bryce Strunk on drums, Renee Blaesing on guitar, Peter Hill on bass, Ben Heroux on keys, Kenny Dietz on trombone, William Wayman on trumpet, Ethan Patterson on Percussion/drums, Annon Lomo on Djembe/congas, Ryan Swanson on tenor saxophone, and Sam Campbell on trumpet, flugelhorn, and conga. Audience members have described The Antitones’ sound similar to: Snarky Puppy, Mouse on the Keys, and Tower of Power. On January 22nd of 2018, The Antitones were featured on WNIJ's Sessions from Studio A podcast series; on January 24th of 2018, The Antitones played their release show for their first full-length album, "Seven Five Seven." They had sold out their first run of physical CDs and are now back in stock.

As of August of 2018, The Antitones have now expanded to become a twelve-piece band of unique twists and eclectic fusions all encompassed under the jazz spectrum. The members of the band are: Bryce Strunk on drums, Renee Blaesing on guitar, Peter Hill on bass, Jason Simon on keys, Evon J Sams on baritone saxophone, Kenneth Dietz on trombone, William Wayman on trumpet, Ethan Patterson on Percussion/drums, Annon Lomo on Djembe/congas, Ryan Swanson on tenor saxophone, Xen Kingsley on vocals, and Sam Campbell on trumpet, flugelhorn, and conga.
