One day this band was planned at a local festival in my town, a small festival just for the locals. They booked 'The Animals', this band original. We went to the festival and I was excited for this performance. Seems to be only the drummer and keyboardist still in this band and playing, the rest of the band were replaced by younger man.

@The Haters --- The Animals did covers yes... but so did the Rolling Stones, The Kinks etc... in the beginning of their careers. Doing covers were very, very popular in the 60s!! AND The Animals had several originals too... later came Eric Burdon and the Animals (most all those songs were originals very few covers from that incarnation).

One of the most underrated bands from the 60's! The Animals are awesome! The voice of Eric Burdon is....... OMG !!! And their music is real jazzy/blues rock n roll. For every real music lover I recommend their live albums, well that's what I call music!

Yes The Animals did covers (but so did [artist]The Rolling Stones[/artist] in the beginning). The Animals have several original songs that others have covered over the years - just the way it works in the music world. Besides that The Animals ended up splitting for a long time - Eric move forward to a "new group of Animals" (so to speak): [artist]Eric Burdon & The Animals[/artist] and they had many original songs. The Animals are a great proto-punk garage blues rock band. Still one of my all time favorite bands. Eric's voice is outstanding - one of the best singers I've ever heard. And Steel, Valentine, Price and Chandler are great musicians. ---> Much love to The Animals. <3

What does that mean, 1nnervision? Are you implying that a well-done and interesting cover of an existing song has no artistic merit? Or that the fact that their most famous song is a cover automatically invalidates any merit their originals may have? I'll agree to disagree if you just don't like their version of House of the Rising Sun but interpreting an existing work is not in itself an act void of creativity.
