TS Brooks has called Berlin residence for the better part of one year. The California born singer/songwriter first toured Germany in 2009 after the release of his debut solo album, 'Tertiary Allotment Is A Delightfulness' (Snowstorm Music), and hasn't stopped since. Having now included to the list Spain, England, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, Brooks continues to tour relentlessly while writing songs for a new album to be recorded later this year.
In his erstwhile project, Minmae, who recorded 10 full-length albums in as many years, Brooks mixed Byrds-like jangle-pop with sonic detours into psych, drone, and experimentalism. Brooks' new music virtually eschews all instrumentation, and his live shows are intimate and sincere, imposing focus on the stories, recollections, observations, and appeals that make up his lyrical universe. Hinting at Americana and modern folk, his voice straddles somewhere between Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt, and and the late Vic Chesnutt.
Having recently recorded at the House of Plenty in San Diego, California, the results of which produced a self-titled 4-song vinyl ep (limited to 300 copies), Brooks is now working on writing and recording his second official full-length, while touring Germany extensively with dates in Switzerland in late September, 2010.
