Syamsudin is a singer from the from the Mingangkabau (or Minang) ethnic group of West Sumatra, Indonesia. He seems to have been the first performer to have released commercial rabab pesisir selatan recordings, beginning in 1971 and, continuing with such works as ‘Kaba Merantau ke Jambi’, produced in 5 cassettes by Tanama Records in 1975.
