Svardun is a one-man ambient and electronic project from Hämeenlinna, Finland. The project was founded in the summer of 2018.
The music is experimental in spirit, taking inspiration heavily from Paysage d'Hivers early work (especially the album "Die Festung"), as well as Burzum's ambient albums "Hliðskjálf" and "The Ways of Yore", and many other similar, and not so similar, artists and albums. Much of the music is also inspired by Scandinavian and Finnic folklore and beliefs, but these are not directly mentioned or shown.
Some of the music, mainly the album "Manetheren", has also been influenced by high fantasy literature. The name Manetheren comes from The Wheel of Time -book series by Robert Jordan.
Svardun originally started out as a depressive and atmospheric black metal project, but moved onto ambient and electronic music in the autumn of 2018.
