Sum 41 is a Punk Rock band from Ajax, Ontario, Canada. The band was formed from members of several local high school bands, 41 days into the summer of 1996.
The band consists of:
Deryck Whibley a.k.a. Bizzy D (lead vocals, guitar)
Jason McCaslin a.k.a. Cone (bass, backing vocals)
Steve Jocz a.k.a. Stevo32 (drums, backing vocals).
Since signing a record deal with Island Records in 1999, the band has released four full length albums, one EP, and more than ten singles. Their sound reflects that of many of their Punk Rock contemporaries, like Blink-182. In 2001 Fat Lip was used on the American Pie 2 Soundtrack.
On May 16, 2006 it was announced to the world via their official website that Dave "Brownsound" Baksh had left the band to, as Dave himself stated, "pursue a new musical path". He claimed he could not express himself fully with the guitar in Sum 41, and has now formed his own reggae metal band (Brown Brigade).
The band just finished their new album, which is called Underclass Hero, which will be released on July 24th. "Underclass Hero" is also the title of the 1st single, which was released on May 15th. You can already check out the song "March of the Dogs" from this album on iTunes.
