The game takes place in the fictional city of Punchbowl, Pennsylvania at its opening ceremony in 1959. The main character, Edward "Stubbs" Stubblefield, was an unsuccessful traveling salesman in his life and was murdered in 1933 during the Great Depression by Otis Monday after coming home to find "Stubbs" with his daughter Maggie Monday.
