    Voting is now open for the April LP Group listening session on Twitter. This month's theme is "Alt-Country Classics"

    This will involve anyone who is interested listening to the same album on Twitter at the same time and having a bit of a discussion.

    Send five votes to @Lpgrp from the list before 10pm on Friday 16th March 2012. The number only will do. You are unable to vote for an album you nominated.

    Please send a Direct Message or a Mention.

    Please send all of your comments to @LPGrp. This will hopefully clear the clutter from your timelines for your followers.

    To follow the session search @LPGrp with a program such as Tweetdeck.

    Everyone is welcome!

    The session will take place at 9pm on Sunday 1st April 2012

    The previous @lpgrp Sessions are as follows;

    January - 'Great album' - Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
    February - 'Debut' - Portisthead - Dummy
    March - 'Women' - PJ Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea

    One of the perks of living in this town is that you get to swim in a sea of humanity that (often; not always, but often) works at an incredibly high level. The best of the best, however you define the best, is here. This is the capital of the modern world in every meaningful way, and the energy here is unrivaled anywhere. It’s not for everyone, for sure, and it’s not the only place where that kind of energy and human-powered nuclear synergy is happening, but to steal a quote from the late Ed Mirvish, there ain’t no place like this place anyplace.

    It’s easy to get blasé about the greatness of the people you get to meet and know. I’ve got a few friends that are near the top of their professions, their work is seen and appreciated by millions, and they’re almost alarmingly humble about it. I guess they have to keep it that way in order to function, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t sometimes want to shake them and say dammit do you see how important you are to how the world works…
