Soulskin is truly a band reborn. Originally formed in Nashville, TN in 1992 and inspired by the then-exploding Alternative Rock scene and bands like Tool and Faith No More, Soulskin began creating and releasing inventive rock music. Their sound started funky, got heavier, and eventually evolved into the ‘Neo-Gothic Sludge’ that Soulskin became known for. The band lasted longer than most, finally winding down in the early 2000s. Now, 15 years later, the group has reconvened and is set to drop a brand new record, Beneath A Dimmer Crown. It’s a set of powerful alternative-metal songs powered by both an innovative spirit and a strong melodic instinct. It was produced and engineered by veteran Chris Grainger in Nashville and mastered by the legendary Ted Jensen. This is high-level rock that delivers and is truly the group’s finest moment.
Soulskin is guitarist Jason Hamilton, bassist Chris Stone, vocalist Matthew Marth, and drummer Bobby Burdick. The four musicians used modern internet technology to construct the songs on this new record and overcame the issue of each member living in a different state. Beneath A Dimmer Crown is proof of what can be accomplished when the drive and brotherhood remain strong. Soulskin has returned to be among the living and is here to make an impact. Rock fans are advised to get onboard and ride.
