At first, I thought I only liked a few songs. Eventually I got to the point where a couple albums were getting a fair amount of plays, but I didn't think I was a huge fan or anything. Some time later I settled on the fact that I really mostly liked three albums, and that was as far as it was going to go. Some years later I've got to the point where the whole discography has sucked me in like a supermassive black hole, and I can't stop listening to almost everything. I think the turning point was discovering the 54-track B-Side collection.
Tinderbox is my favourite album of the Banshees as a whole, and certainly one of the more cohesive. Sometimes i feel fully immersed in its majestic landscape. It tells a story. The drums beat like a heart from the beginning to the end, the guitars are dreamy and crisp, and Siouxsie's voice was just brilliant. Everytime i get chills.
My sister used to listen to siouxsie since childhood and always tried to make me listen to her as well. After all this years, I finally decided to sample and find out what did she like in her that much.
