I've never really understood the shoegaze thing, either. I mean, there's a lot of feedback and effects, but the sound in itself isn't all that shoegaze-y. Quite obvious comparisons can be made to the darker JAMC b-sides ('Cracked', 'Who Do You Love', 'Bo Diddley Is Jesus', that kinda stuff), but other than that, I mostly hear garage, surf and post-punk. I also know them to be big Velvet Underground fans (they even covered 'Sister Ray' on a recent VU tribute compilation) but the - often made - MBV comparisons really seem like a stretch to me.
Psych Fuck is a solid album, but the fact that their Spotify catalogue gets littered more and more with unofficial/fake releases, which are just made up of earlier released tracks from other albums, annoys me.
I've e-mailed them about this issue and Henrik told me this is due to some law issues, and unfortunately there wasn't much they could do about it. Apparently they got them taken down a while ago, but they resurfaced later on.
