Shahriar Bourbour was born and grew up for the most part in Tehran, Iran. In his family he was surrounded by music-lovers. His older brothers played everything from the flute, to the violin, and the classical guitar. He started taking piano lessons at an early age. His curriculum included Bach, Czerny, and Burgmuller, as well as Iranian, Armenian, and Russian folk songs.
