Biography

Sedent were a band from the Nashville area, blending classic and modern rock into "progressive metal", with just the right amount of melodic riffs to make for a dynamic blend.

Sedent was formed by original 3 members: Lead Guitarist-James Absher, Drummer-Adam Heady, and Bassist-Matt Dillard. For roughly a year, they spent time working on their craft and writing songs. After a while they decided they needed a fuller sound and brought in rhythm guitarist-Daniel Fisher, who brought a whole new dimension to the groups sound, and his writing style was embraced by them. Throughout this 12-month span, they brought in and tried out several vocalists that never quite seemed to bring them together or create the sound they were looking for. Struggling to find the right person to make this band complete, they went on a full-scale search to find the right person. Every audition seemed a disaster, and things were looking bleak. That was until June of 2006, When Colleen answered their ad and an audition was scheduled.
The Chemistry was immediate and the guys were very impressed with her range and her easy interpretation of their music. After a few more failed auditions. The guys decided Colleen was their best bet, and Sedent was complete.

After only 3 months together as a complete band, Sedent started working diligently to prepare them to finally start playing shows. Starting out with an awesome crowd at their first show back in September at the Muse, they have been packing out venues around the Nashville area and are being requested to play shows, not only by other bands, but by venues as well. They have rapidly become a favorite to an ever-growing fan base that follows them from show to show. Sedent is quickly making a big name for themselves.

Sedent's front woman, Colleen, with her soaring vocals, packs a punch at every show. The chemistry within the group is almost palpable, and with every note, fans can feel the rush of excitement emanating from the stage, and it's contagious. The shows are full of raw energy pushing the limits of showmanship and stage presence. Their passion and conviction are driving forces in their live shows, leaving fans begging for more. Their infectious sound is a result of their original songs and riffs, blending mainstream rock with the essence of something new. Pushing toward the future of rock is the main focus, and giving the fans something to look forward to, keeps people coming back for more.

In November of 2008, after 21/2 years together, Front woman, Colleen Alanna parted ways with Sedent. It basically boiled down to irreconcilable differences, and goals that were not in sync among the members of the band. Colleen has since formed a new band called Love’s Tragedy.
