• My Favorite Albums of 2011

    20 Dec 2011, 03:05 by mrmichel0927

So here near the end of 2011, I want to take a moment to go over what my favorite albums of the year were. I've listed my top ten and a few honorable mentions. I've put down a brief description of each album. I also made a note that you should check out a certain release if you like a particular band(s). It's not an exact sound-alike list but contains bands that I feel capture the same type of energy in their music. Since people like orderly lists, I've tried to put them in order. But really, if it's on this list it's one of my favorites, and I could care less which number it is. I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think or refer me to your own lists so I can check out some new albums!

  • Comprehensive List of Christian Metal and Rock Bands

    1 Apr 2011, 21:15 by mrmichel0927

This list is not all-inclusive, as I am mortal, and cannot know every band that exists, especially in the underground scene. Also, I am sure to have forgotten some. If you have a band(s) that you want me to add to the list, simply post it and I'll get around to adding it. The criteria is simply a metal or rock band that is Christian. I'm sure I'm not 100% accurate with the genres, they are a general guide to help people out. But feel free to argue with me if you think I'm crazy! The purpose of this is hopefully to provide those who like this type of music with a resource to find new bands.

Bands with an apostrophe in their name ( ' ) will not link with code. If anyone knows a solution to this issue, please leave a shout. Otherwise, links to the band's page has been provided for your convenience. Please report broken links in the shoutbox.

A special thank you to everyone who has suggested a band name to add to this list, which is growing all the time. Spread it around to your friends!
  • my mp3-player non-scrobblings, pt. 4

as those who follow, may see, i'm not the one who often changes music in his m3-player. in fact once it's in there, it stays there for a long long time, hence the non-scrobbling thing.. it's a shame it never gets scrobbled in the amounts it is played here (it woulda made the tops).

    * A Plea for Purging!!! what can i say about these guys? they're redefining , imho. a lot of good guitars, very eclectic, very fast (without being overbearing).. A Critique of Mind and Thought is excellent! very hard to pick a track that doesn't stand out, they all do.. perhaps Slaying of the Serpentine Dragon is THA track! but then again, so are other tracks.. good! good! good!

    * For Today's Ekklesia is a very tight album with no skip-tracks. tight! tight! tight! breakdowns, beautiful riffs, melodic interludes, good vocals - (not so generic) at its finest. Redemption is awesome! and so are Ready For The Fight and A Higher Standard!
