Here are some excerpts from a brief written interview:
So, what made you decide to get into the music business?
I began making music freshman year, but it wasn't until the age 23 when I realized all of my talent was going to waste. I didn't understand the business side of music which was preventing my music from being heard.
What is the name of your first single?
Bag It Up
What were you doing before your music career?
I was and currently still am a single father working 60 hours per week in a factory to provide for my daughter and my dream.
Name some of the artist you would like to work with in the future?
I would like to work with Travis Scott, Rick Ross, BELLY, Solange, Anthony Hamilton
What are some of the pro and cons in the music industry?
Lets start with the cons… you will meet a lot of thirsty untrustworthy people. You must be able to read people and study them well, otherwise you will get screwed over. Also, it can be depressing becsuse building a BUZZ takes time but it's worth it in the end. Some Pros… when you get with the right team, the sky's the limit. You get opportunities to travel places and get paid to do what you love.
How important is it to have a great team behind?
Without a team you behind you, it's nearly impossible to success in the music industry. There's not enough hours in the day to do everything yourself. You need people working for you 24/7.
What are some of your future goals when it comes to music?
My goal is to get three gold singles through Spotify in the next two years. I also plan on touring the country to help build buzz with radio campaigns along the way. I will not stop until I leave my mark in Hip Hop.
Since you've been in the music industry, have you seen a big change when it comes to your friendships?
Personally, I keep to myself most the time. Working 60 hours a week, being a father, and chasing my dreams is a full time job. But, I have seen a change in people around me. My close friends have kept it 100% along my journey, but I’ve noticed a lot of people who didn't struggle with me are now trying to join our team.
Name some of the people who helped with your career?
Michael Neely (Manager) Kyle Lackey (Road Manager) Michelle Clausing (Mother) Reggie McVey (Website Designer) AMG (Market and Promotion)
What is your main focus when it comes to your music?
My main focus is to bring my own wave to the hip hop scene. Instead of following everyone’s trends, I'm here to set a new pace.
What advice can you give us who follow you?
Anybody can follow their passion. In the music industry, with the right amount of ambition and the correct team behind you, anything is possible. I grew up poor with no father. I struggled my whole life, and never made excuses. If you want something bad enough you must take it yourself.
