Wiki

Lyrically, the track itself reflects feelings of being trapped within the confines of your mind, but at a time where you are trying to reach outward and can see all that is possible, but at the same time struggling to feel that it could actually happen, could become real. An onward battle with how controlling and debilitating the mind can be.

SPEETK is an electro/triphop band from south London.
A combination of dark soulful and jazzy female vocals, some bold hypnotic bass undertones tied together with sweeping synth sounds and sharp beats. Their aesthetic evidently contains aspects of electronica, synth-rock and synth-pop making their style edgy and intoxicating.

The visual is a stunning contemporary dance video – initially made with no sound, and since re-edited for use with our track by video maker Andrés Aguirre. The original work was made with ‘Por Defecto Danza’ - a Chilean based contemporary dance company who created the project entitled ‘Pogo’ (a particular dance most associated with punk rock). The work was directed by the choreographer and dancer Ana Carvajal and involved 60 dancers and actors. It was filmed at the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center, an beautiful old train station built in 1913 located in Santiago, Chile.

Lyrics: At The Other Side

You're pulling your strings
no your kite won't spread wings
this is your world if you let it take you

You're pulling your strings
no your kite won't spread wings
be your new world everyday re-make you

You're pulling your strings
no your kite won't spread wings
don't let your weaknesses swallow you whole
don't let your weaknesses swallow you whole

Looking out through the window
looking out see the seeds grow
wind will spread you afar go
fruit wherever you sow

Are they looking through at you
saying what you fear is true
hid behind is invisible
but glass is exposing you

Delve in, seep out, creep in now
shout delve in, seep out, creep in now shout

You're pulling your strings
no your kite won't spread wings
this is your world if you let it take you

You're pulling your strings
no your kite won't spread wings
be your new world everyday re-make you

You're pulling your strings
no your kite won't spread wings
don't let your weaknesses swallow you whole
don't let your weaknesses swallow you whole

You don't want them to know you
but you feel you just want to be seen
but you scream out where you've been
don't let them think you can be ignored
alone you stay behind an open door
move yourself the surprise will take you to the floor

Float over your reflection
filter light, ray, make your spectrum
colours your soul now replete
pain won't break will make complete

Looking out through the window
looking out see the seeds grow
wind will spread you afar go
fruit wherever you sow.
