Today marks the 24th anniversary of his passing (hectic day in the office for me). Today I listened to him for the very first time. Quite a pleasant surprise, the kind of surprise that generates from a musical discovery. I tend to not experience those often. Anyway, music really trascends death.
Some time ago I was in an old and dark pub in London, a guy at the bar is approaching and we start talking about music, he makes me listen the album Brute Force and Ignorance ..... it was love at first listening !
how could I have ignored this genius for so long?
Hello friend! I would like to ask you if you Know what happend to Spotify and there are not any album from my favorite artist Rory Gallagher. Generally, I do not understand why many albums for a time are available and then removed. Do you have any idea why this is happening?
Just remembering an interview I saw back in 1969 by Dick Cavett; he asked Jimi Hendrix what it was like to be the best guitarist in the world and Jimi replied " I dunno, should ask Rory Gallagher, not me" High acclaim...
They don't make them like you anymore, that's for sure. He's been my favorite artist for the past 3 years. I don't even know what I'd do without his music,he has truly helped me through the darkest periods in my life. I wouldn't be who I am today without his music.
