"Love in Vain" (originally "Love in Vain Blues") is a blues song written by American musician Robert Johnson. Johnson recorded the song in 1937 during his last recording session and in 1939 it was issued as the last of his original 78 rpm records. Johnson's original recording was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame as part of the 2011 "Robert Johnson Centennial" celebrations.
The British band The Rolling Stones recorded their version of the song for their 1969 album, Let It Bleed.
