I'd say they definitely are influenced by the kind of atmospheric bm that emerged out of flowery/folksy atmospheric bm bands, but that itself is pretty detached from contemporary black metal. I feel like it's better to just not lose your mind over what really is black metal. The genre has had widespread influence on metal as a whole but with varying degrees. That's why something with vague influence of black metal also ends up being called that, especially if it's not easy to point out what else it sounds like.

Dénouement just blew me away.. like I'm not a person who gets emotional that easily but I found myself almost on the verge of tears. Last time I had such a powerful reaction was probably while listening to Burial's Rival Dealer EP for the first time. Dénouement = strong AOTY candidate.
