"Can't Judge a Book", properly "You Can't Judge a Book by the Cover" (aka "You Can't Judge a Book by Its Cover") is a song written by American blues musician Willie Dixon that was recorded in 1962 by American rock and roll pioneer Bo Diddley. The song has subsequently been recorded by many artists.
