A brilliant evening, starting with The Maccabees, who gave a fantastic performance of all our favourite songs, plus one B side treasure that was new to most of the crowd: Accordion Song. Felix's vocals and Orlando's accordion were great fun, we look forward to hearing that one again soon!
Razorlight rolled up, fashionably late in a minibus as the light began to fade. The mellow atmosphere intensified, and the band launched straight into Back to the Start. They played material from all three albums, including Golden Touch, Wire to Wire and In the Morning.
After a long set, they were persuaded to return for an encore by the 6000 strong crowd, for which they played, 60 Thompson, an extended version of Somewhere Else and the electrifyingRip It Up.
New drummer Skully was good, but he lacked the vocal ability of Burrows before him. We will just have to wait and see how the newest member of Razorlight turns out... …
