"Ghostbusters" is a 1984 funk rock song written and recorded by Ray Parker, Jr. as the theme to the film of the same name that starred Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. It hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 on 11 August 1984, and stayed there for three weeks. It also reached number two on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks in the summer of 1984. The song is performed in the key of B major.

It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Music, Original Song, but lost to Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You".
