On the short yet impactful “Internet,” Post Malone details his frustrations with the internet in general, specifically targeting social media culture to parody.
The song was originally leaked online on September 15, 2018. This leak contained an open verse where the instrumental played before Post jumped back into the second chorus. A second version leaked online on May 24, 2019, featuring vocals from Kanye West; his verse was unfinished and merely served as a reference verse. Post confirmed in an interview with Kerwin Frost that the song dates as far back as 2016.
