Plhus1 is a Hip-Hop artist from East Flatbush Brooklyn. Plus1 was born in the famous Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. He was raised during the height of the crack epidemic in Harlem by a mother with Native American blood and a father from Alabama who's ancestors helped Harriet Tubman build the Underground Railroad. So it's clear that the struggle is in his genes but with that he also possesses the ability to overcome it.
Learning to overcome would start early in Plhus1's life when, at the age of 8, his father passed away making him "the man of the house", his mother said. Shortly after that his family moved to East Flatbush Brookly. In Jr. High School Plhus1 found out a couple things about himself, one of them being that he was pretty good at writing poetry and the girls really liked poetry. So he started writing more and he began to win awards in school for his poetry, which made him even more popular. While growing up in Brooklyn he would find himself on the opposite side of the law. He became know as a local hustler and eventually attracted the attention of the police and would spend nights in a central booking's cell just about every month for different violations. It wasn't until someone snitched on Plhus1 and the police raided his home on Albany ave that he ever had that type of run in with the law. Luckily Plhus1 knew it was coming because his best friend Sima-Don's house was raided roughly 4 months before his. So there was nothing in the house when the NYPD Swat team broke down the door and rushed in at 4:48am looking for Plhus1.
Then a change happened one summer night on the block Plhus1 grew up on in East Flatbush. Sima-Don suggested that he try to read his poetry over this industry beat he heard on the radio the other day, so Plus1 agreed and from that point forward the Hip-Hop artist you know now as Plhus1 was born. But it wasn't easy, 6 years ago his mother became tragically ill and Plhus1 had to make the decision to pull the plug to end the suffering his mother was going through. Not to long after that Plhus1 found himself in court fighting his own aunt and sister to stay in the house he lived in his whole life after they tried to evict him to sell the house.
The process was long and trying but Plhus1 come out on top after he says "God sent a lawyer to Jewish the case". These situations aren't anything new to Plhus1, struggle is in his genes, oppression is all around, and the pressure to succeed can be too much to handle for a young black man in this day and age. However, Plhus1 has risen to the occasion again by sticking to his passion and completing his first MixTape titled "Draft Night". Plhus1 has something to prove, not only is the mixtape finished but he has an EP ready to be released later this year which is currently untitled until he puts the finishing touched on the project. Plhus1 tells his life story through his music so it's always up to date and fresh. Get to know Plhus1 through his artistry he has come a long way from hustling and is trying to leave that life behind but the struggle is real and when the going gets tough real dudes do real things for men salary.
