There are at least two bands named Pleurisy:
1. Formed in 1990 in Amersfoort, Netherlands. Existing in their present line-up from 1996, Pleurisy developed a very own Death Metal-style, combining brutality & melody in a way which is refreshing to the metal scene. After 2 demo-tapes, their split-cd with Asgaia “Unholy Spheres”, their promising debut-cd “Experience The Sacrilege” (1999) and their second album "Dazed & Deranged" (2003) they have gained a well-known name in the Dutch metal-scene with excellent reviews and a devastating live-reputation established by gigs with bands like Cannibal Corpse, Arch Enemy, God Dethroned, Ancient Rites and many, many others… After releasing their 3rd full-length album "Seizure" in 2007, the band split up in 2008.
2. A raw black metal/grindcore band from Victoria, Australia. Debut demo released in 2018 through Convictus Tapes.
