Philippe Chamouard, born in Paris on February 24, 1952, is a French composer of contemporary music
Philippe Chamouard has always wanted to stand out from all influences and from all schools. After studying piano with Guy Lasson and composing with Roger Boutry, Philippe Chamouard attended the University of Paris-Sorbonne where he obtained a PhD on the orchestration of Mahler's symphonies. He published Mahler as himself in 1989. Honorary member of the International Gustav Mahler Gesellschaft of Vienna, edited by Deutsche Grammophon, he taught music writing at the University of Paris IV until 2004. Since 1992, his symphonic scores have been programmed in France (Orchester Colonne …) and abroad.
