So Never Gonna Die has now been on constant repeat in my works van since the release date, and the more I listen to it the more I love it and the more I find in it. My favourites are Never Gonna Die, Live While You Can, We Set Fire, A Little Hope, Wont give up the fight, Cant Save You Now, and All the Ways U Can Die. I'm so glad we got a generous 14 new tracks here, I love them all - thanks again PW. P.S I also loved the All or Nothing album with Zoli which also introduced me to Ignite (wow) and also loved The Black Pacific album so keep up the good work guys. I also love Fletchers guitaring and influences the most, its so good. I want to buy you all a beer, THANK YOU!
I like "Never Gonna Die" a lot more than "Yesterdays", then again "Yesterdays" was basically a b-sides collection. There's certainly more energy and a quicker pace to this album. There are a couple songs on the second half I'm not quite as into, but most of it's pretty damn good.
I was STOKED for the return of Jim. All Or Nothing musically, and production-wise was the closest thing to the "Pennywise" style since Straight Ahead-- except with a very different voice of Zoli (but good). So my expectations for Yesterdays was similar to All Or Nothing but with Jim singing. Instead, Pennywise delivers their most lackluster, dull, half-hearted album ever. It sounds like a bunch of B-Sides from the From The Ashes album (which IMO is their worst). The production sounds like the treble was rolled off at about 4K, no bite in the guitar, kick drum sounds like a couch pillow. Don't believe me? Listen to the original version of Slow Down (secret song on Unknown Road) then the remake on this album for a great example of the lifeless sound, and lack of energy.
