Pathétique Poupée (french for Pathetic Doll) is a brazilian band fronted by etorigan, also bassist for the visual kei band PSYGAI. Pathé, as it's called by the fans, was formed in 2005 when etorigan asked his friend, Z (PSYGAI's vocalist), to join his project. 今、メッセージは同じけど (ima, messeeji wa onaji kedo) was their first, internet-released single (September 25th, 2005), a kind of romantic ballad.
Pathétique Poupée's music is greatly inspired by japanese noise. All songs are written primarly in portuguese by etorigan, being later translated into japanese by Z. Obscure and mad themes were explored for their mini-album 六道 (rokudou), the latest release so far, despite the romanticism of their first musical period.
The 2006 year saw Z going to Japan but not leaving the band. etorigan, who didn't want Pathé to pause its activities, invited a support member, Toru, also a PSYGAI member, to sing and play violin. With this line-up both held 3 lives and explored a variety of non-usual intruments, including the taiko and theremin.
As for November, 2007, Pathé's first experimental PV was made public: 曲事 (kusegoto), available on YouTube.
