Orpheum are a Gothic Progressive Metal band, based in London UK.
Orpheum; named after the old theatrical vaudevillian circuit, formed from the ashes of different bands in 2010.
Fronted by the mesmerising Erin Johnson, melodic guitar of Finlay Thomson, pounding bass of Phillipe Dutra and the thunderous drums of Andy Thomson, they have combined gothic, progressive and symphonic metal to create their dramatic music. Some influences include Within Temptation, Gothminister
and Dream Theater.
Their debut album "Darkness and Decay" was released on 24th June 2016 on their Official Store (http://store.orpheum.co) and on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Music, Spotify, among other digital stores.
Orpheum was born in 2010, released their debut EP in 2012 while performing in and around London that year.
During 2013 the bass player left the band, so they headed back to the studio to write.
After a long search for a new bass player, in 2014 former Silent Cry bassist Phillipe Dutra joined the Orpheum family.
At the break of 2015, the band's debut album "Darkness and Decay" was announced, along with the title track being released online. The year saw the band back performing live and for the first time at venues around the UK, with tour and festival dates to follow for 2016 including the Northern Symphony Festival, Bladefest and Darker Days Festival 2017.
