Born in a Scottish-based underground music venue, OK Button was born out of a chance meeting.

Amber Wilson, Nass Donald and Adam Falkner are the musicians behind the moniker boasting notable past projects. Amber was performing an acoustic set in her native Aberdeen when Adam fortuitously stumbled upon her gig. The two formed a friendship and began sharing song ideas over email. The process served as a welcome escapism from the loneliness of being on the road with their respective musical projects – Amber as vocalist with Bombay Bicycle Club and Morcheeba, and Adam as a drummer for One Eskimo and Babyshambles.

The duo teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Nass and writer/producer Craigie Dodds (Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz, Sugababes) and thus the outfit’s dark electronic, synth-pop sound was born.

The Message is the first single to be released, channelling honest emotion, unorthodox percussion and an eclectic soundscape. It’s a song about the disappointment of being let down by people you trust, and rising above. The chorus bursts out from the soft, ethereal soundscapes and unexpectedly proclaims “You motherf*ckers won’t bring me down” – a nostalgic nod to the 90’s hip hop of Jurassic 5, De La Soul and Dead Pres that Amber had grown up listening to. Amber says, “I was really struggling with the chorus. I wanted to convey the elation of not giving a sh*t anymore and realising your self-worth, but nothing was doing it for me. I channelled my inner Tupac and we all ended up loving it.”
