I have reported 'Lashed to the Slave Stick' as being offensive to ethnic minorities, in hopes that Nile gets cancelled and so from then on whenever I listen to their music I can feel even more kvlt and elitist than ever before.
New album just didn't click with me. I gotta give it more spins though, like I did with "Unerthed" which made me enjoy it mainly as a whole piece and then most songs indivudally. My firts impression of "Vile" is that there is a lot of will and power from the technical standpoint (young blood) but no inspiration.
New album is pretty bad. They are starting to sound like generic death metal, and less like Ancient Egyptian slave lashing brutality. Plus with WSNBU easily being their worst album ever, it looks like Nile are going to shit tbh
The RYM rating of their albums is accurate. AoTW > ITDS > TWTGD > ITHY > BS & AMCNK > ATGoS > WSNBU (easily their worst. only like 3 or 4 tracks on there that arent just pointless technical meandering)
Have loved this band for such a long time now bc I think its fair to say they can easily be called the most brutal music of all time. When I listen to these guys I can literally hear the blood spattering on the sand as the slaves of Ramses building his pyramid are lashed to the slave stick
The new vocals are great, and so is the song. Here is the track-listing for the album.
01. Long Shadows Of Dread
02. The Oxford Handbook Of Savage Genocidal Warfare
03. Vile Nilotic Rites
04. Seven Horns Of War
05. That Which Is Forbidden
06. Snake Pit Mating Frenzy
07. Revel In Their Suffering
08. Thus Sayeth The Parasites Of The Mind
09. Where Is The Wrathful Skies
10. The Imperishable Stars Are Sickened
11. We Are Cursed
Tremendous song indeed. I gotta disagree on Sethu, though. I like that approach, mainly with the vocals, it adds to the ambient and to the lyrics.
But I understand where you come from, It seems like the "weak" guitar tone is the one to blame.
