There are more than one artist with the name "Nemez".
1) They were born with the 2007 spring awaking with dreams of growth and experiences. Their longing for music does not consist of mysteries, philosophies, only of joy; but from the moment of this publicity attempt, the comments, feedbacks and community/common experiences are also determining for them. The group set out from Transylvania, and hope to reach both further regions and souls close to them. The band also has strong influences from Hungarian national music. They have one album released in 2008 called Otosfogat/Five-in-hand. This is 10 track + bonus video CD. Their Otosfogat/Five-in-hand song is a remarkable version of David Brubeck - Take Five but with Nemez signature. They have also comic lyrics.
The band members are:
Judit Kátai - vocal, violin - She’s the ‘odd-one-out’: not a man, not a szekler … but we do not love her for this. She’s always smiling at our concerts, and she gave name to the band … by the way, she’s the hottest girl in nemEZ.
Jenõ Könczey - keyboard - When we asked him if he would play with us, he did not say „no” first … and hasn’t done it since then. From then on it’s been obvious what we mix the folk music with.
Ferenc Orbán - violin, guitar - The other ‘odd-one-out’. With his way of playing the violin, he subverted our ’concept’ that the main criterion of getting into the band is having a name beginning with a ’K’.
Csongor Kerezsi - bass guitar - He’s the one for all work: roadman, technician, does the sound check, and he can even make scrambled eggs if we are near starvation. Yet, the most significant for us is the sound of his bass guitar, which is the spice of our music.
Jocó Kátai - drums - With or without intention, we always look up to him since we can talk about him only in superlatives: he has the biggest shoes, he’s the tallest, the loudest and the most enthusiastic.
2) A Hip-Hop/Rap Artist from Samara, Russia, Sergey Pushkarevsky known professionally as "NemeZ".
