MY REFLECTION released their new single THIS WORLD BELONGS TO US out digitally on April 11th. The single includes songs «This World Belongs To Us (Tonight)» and «Walk». The release was done in cooperation with Inverse Records.

The track THIS WORLD BELONGS TO US (TONIGHT) was released with a music video. “We felt that we have a killer song in our hands and it was natural to make a video for the song”, said Jenni Räikkönen, vocalist of My Reflection. “For us MR is about having fun and both song and video express that pretty well. «Walk», for its part, is a song about longing for good moments in the past.”

THIS WORLD BELONGS TO US differs from the debut album DREAMLAND DROWNING (2012). “We don’t want to over categorize ourselves, it only constrains the creativity. We like musical travelling and these were to paths we decided to take”, Jenni explained. “We want to push our limits and develop ourselves constantly”, Jenni says. “As a perfectionist, I’ve been building my walls half of my life and for me this also about me breaking free.”

The year started with HELL ON HIGH HEELS show at Virgin Oil, Helsinki where My Reflection played with Lullacry and Crimson Sun. After that My Reflection continued focusing on the new material and making their first music video. The digital single “This World Belongs To Us” will be released with the music video on April 11 2014. The single includes songs “This World Belongs To Us (Tonight)” and “Walk”.

In 2013 My Reflection threw a handful of gigs with great bands such as One Morning Left, Bloodred Hourglass, Lullacry, Fear Of Domination and Xe-NONE (RUS). The highlight was an opportunity to warm up the Dutch gothic metal band EPICA at Nosturi, Helsinki. My Reflection started also writing new material and visited D-studios for recordings.

The long-awaited debut album “Dreamland Drowning” was released on November 30, 2012 in cooperation with Inverse Records. The album got great reviews around the world and air time on local and internet radio stations. Dreamland Drowning is available in web shops and music stores worldwide as well as on digital download sites such as iTunes, Spotify and Amazon.

In 2011 the band was focusing on gigs and writing new songs. Henkka returned to band while Aki left for a year to study at University.

In November 2010 My Reflection released a self-published demo album “Be My Eyes”. The songs “Stand Again”, “Shadow In The Sun” and “Is This The End” have been airing on Finnish radio stations Radio Rock and YleX. Henkka had to leave the band due to personal reasons. Petja and Aki switched keys and bass to guitars and a new bass player Tomas “Tumppi” Oksanen stepped in.

Flew to Mars and back. The band was forced to take a short break due to military service obligations. After a year My Reflection continued writing new songs and got a new rehearsal studio in their home region that offered also great recording possibilities.

The story of My Reflection started in 2007 as the band was founded by a bunch of high school friends in Sipoo, Southern Finland. Their line-up was the same as today – with the exception that Petja played keys instead of guitar. In the same year My Reflection recorded their very first EP “Slipping Away" at D-studio. With some air time, fame would still remain to be achieved.
