His performance and lyrical content have made him one of the famous hip-hop artists in Tanzania, Mwanafalsafa aka Binamu rose to fame with the release of his first solo single 'Ingekuwa Vipi' in 2002, the track entered the top ten numbers in various radio stations in Tanzania.

He plunged into the music career by performing on stage in 1993 when he was still a Standard Seven pupil at Mdote Primary School in Muheza, Tanga. Before that, in 1990, he and his brother were transferred to Tanga Region where they completed primary school at Mdote in Muheza. During those days, his brother used to imitate other people's lyrics by writing them down and performing at school. When he was still in Form Two, Mwanafalsafa managed to form a crew known as Black Skin with his schoolmates Robilus and Getheerics in 1995-97. In 1996, he managed to clinch the third position in the Tanga region hip-hop competition.

Mwanafalsafa returned to Dar es Salaam in 1998 and joined the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), where he studied for four months. However, he quit DIT to pursue A-level studies at Ununio Islamic High School, where he majored in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). After completing A-level studies, in August 2000 he plunged seriously into the world of music by composing lyrics while waiting for DJ Bonie Love of Mawingu Records to start producing his music. Under Mawingu Records, he released his debut album titled 'Mwanafalsafa' in 2002.

He has since released three albums to date with the current album 'Unanitega' grabbing the Best Hip hop Album award at the Kilimanjaro Music Awards 2006. He has also formed a crew that goes by the name of Warwil.
