There are at least two bands with the name Mung.
1. A punk rock band from Boston, Massachusetts.
Sort lived but highly influential punk rock band out of the fertile Boston scene which they helped sew. They paved the way for the more popular Boston punk bands today such as Street Dogs, Dropkick Murphys, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and countless others.
Paul Delano - Guitar, Vocals
Keith Bennett - Guitar
Tom Carnali - Bass
Walter Gustafson - Drums
2. Mung is a high energetic band from Sydney that combines the genre of rock, metal, funk, dance and beats together which they say brings them to a genre they call "Dark disco love funk" which is also a title name of one of their biggest hit songs among their fans.
Brad Bishop - Vocals
Mak Bown - Guitar
Daniel Host(aka Hosty) - Bass
Joel Burrell (aka JB, Joely B, Buzz) - Drums
3. MUNG is a punk band festered into existence on the streets of Winnipeg, Manitoba sometime in 1992. Founded by Johnny Mung and Peeker Von Pancake, the band went through a series of drummers before quickly snatching up that mightiest of skinpounders, Hog Lesspuke.
The band has a ridiculous number of shows under its belt, and has played with a variety of punk legends, including the Dayglo Abortions, MDC, the Ripcordz, and many others.
The band went through somewhat of a hiatus between '96 and '05 while Peeker travelled Canada. Songwriting continued, though the band played no gigs, nor did they release any recordings. But like all good dogs, he found his way home; and the mayhem began again.
Peeker now shares guitar duties with the giant Vilhelm, and RJ Milkduds is handling the bass.
