everything past Creatures continues to suck and get worse in equal measure. Marilyn Manson may look cool but musically he is not worth the oxygen he uses to "sing" with, or whatever. Totally stopped caring for this band a long time ago, The EP's and first album i will continue to spin but really took a vertical nose dive to the bottom and i'm completely not interested in them anymore whatsoever. albums like Reincarnate i give that a 0/10 instantly forgettable, never going to re-visit any of the newer stuff ever again, it holds no value whatsoever. there is nothing wrong with the post hardcore route. this band to me has broken up and is gone as far as i care. it was good while it lasted. very short time but it was worth it, for that I am some what grateful
Old Wounds does to some extent. They don't have too many clean vocals, but the ones they do have are kind of reminiscent of bands like Aiden or AFI. Otherwise, they're musically closer to really mosh heavy stuff like On Broken Wings, Bless The Martyr era Norma Jean, old Liferuiner, Recon etc
Just listened to this band for the first time today. It's a treat for someone who's listened to quite a few metalcore bands because I definitely recognize their influences in their songs. Their sound is pretty inconsistent in a good way.
Love all their albums, haven't listened to their EPs though. Reincarnate is my favourite, just relistened to Creatures yesterday and remembered how great of an album that was, and now I just have to give a good relisten to Infamous. Also, Scissorhands is fucking incredible.
Saw these guys open for Slipknot...I enjoyed it because I like the band, but my god did the sound guy screw them over. I feel like sound guys at that venue make the openers sound worse on purpose, because the only time i've ever had an opener sound good there was Halestorm (opening for A7X and Disturbed). I was a bit disappointed, but it was still cool to see them
One of my favorite bands ever, and I'm a death metal enthusiast. Out of all this decades Metalcore bands, this band stands out. Their blend of industrial and metalcore differentiates them from Asking Alexandria and all the other "scene core" bands that lack the passion these guys have
Jorgetime: They've changed a lot. They started as a Post-hardcore band with keyboards. Then creatures was a metalcore with keyboards, just like bleeding through. Now they have more Marilyn manson influence/industrial.
Seriously, you could take that exact same argument and turn it around to be about how When Love Met Destruction and Creatures are crap (they aren't, they're both great but bear with me here) since they were using an established sound (breakdown and synth heavy metalcore) that was already cemented by bands like The Devil Wears Prada and Sky Eats Airplane.
If you think Creatures was good go listen to the extended version of When Love Met Destruction, that was their ultimate golden days. Songs like Billy In 4C Never Saw It Coming and Whatever You Do... Don't Push The Red Button
Simply It does not matter what they play if you like it you do, if you do then you do. the band can´t bow to few fans who want it to be something that they are not. Peoples anyway these days try too much prove something to others, in otherwords actually nobody really is not right in these things but try to raise their opinion above the other. Anyhow it sort of feels like its in deep of human´s natural nature to label/to be more right than the other, sort of almost same as ignorance, they talk without knowing the whole idea but still think they are more right than the other. Anyhow I think it´s not needed to tell more.
No, they aren't the same band as Creatures, they've evolved and "Reincarnated" themselves into their true potential, making a sound distinctly of their own, regardless of what people think or the music trends of current day. MIW is doing something that has needed to be done for a long time, and as every other band sounds more and more redundant and exactly like every other band, this band are taking the first step, not afraid what the crowd thinks, and being music artists as opposed to music "players". Bravo boys, well done. Their albums are getting better and better.
