Tue 17 Jul – Motion City Soundtrack, Sherwood, The Higher, The Forecast

So, on a whim a week before this concert, my friend Katie and I decided to take a two and a half hour road trip to Nashville to see Motion City Soundtrack. I haven't seen them in about two and a half years, and taking that trip was the best decision OF. MY. LIFE.

We got in line at about five, which got us three rows of people back once we finally got in. Concert started about ten minutes late, which made me the most anxious freak EVER. First was The ForecastThey were pretty good, and I had some Rainer Maria flashbacks because the female vocalist was a bass. They don't sound much alike, but I was just excited. Their vocals and instruments were really unbalanced, though, which made it hard to understand their lyrics. So overall, they were good, but I wanted a little more.

Next up was The Higher!!!!! Omgz. I felt like such a stupid girl because they're all really freaking pretty…
  • Should be studying, of course

    I'll Be Seeing You

What should I do with my life?

Why should life be full of so much pain?
    Modern Chemistry
Comments: Apparently it shouldn't. Because we should take pills.

How can I maximize my pleasure during sex?

  • Despite the lack of creativity in melody and chord progressions

    20 Dec 2005, 21:07 by raspberrychucks

So I added two Motion City Soundtrack albums to my mp3 player from the radio station I work at. I've seen the band in concert a few times, opening for various artists, but I never found them to be anything spectacular.

I now can recognize The Future Freaks Me Out and I usually don't listen to any of the their other songs when they come up on shuffle. The other ones I have tried listening to all sound the same. The melodies and chord progressions are basically the same. It sounds like almost the same song, only with different lyrics.

But there's one song, and it doesn't break out of this generic sound the band has, but lyrically I'm finding myself enjoying it, despite its lack of creativity. Modern Chemistry is actually a good song lyrically.

Maybe I just relate because I was put on Zoloft at age 14 and gained a good 20lbs from it. And then I tried Prozac at about 17. Didn't make me gain weight, but didn't really help either. …
