Tottenham-raised artist Miraa May has released her new EP Care Package.
The five-track release sees May provide her airy and light vocals over R&B and tropical house-inspired instrumentals. The artwork for the release is anime-inspired and resembles the imagery used in manga such as Naruto.
Miraa May embraces her Algerian origins and her London spent childhood on the EP. The project opening track “Nobody” sees Miraa sing about relationships and trust issues in English and using UK slang and she also laces in Arabic terms into her verses.
The lyrics on the EP are personal and raw and tell a relatable narrative about relationships, self-confidence and emotions. “Sad” sees Miraa be honest about struggles with feeling low in mood and battling personal demons. The track is a brave and introspective release from the young artist.
