Mile 97 first appeared in Southern California in the mid-1980's, and recorded and performed continuously until 1993 when, having released a dozen or so hours of experimental noise, appeared on several compilations, and performed before many diverse crowds, they abruptly disappeared.
In 1999, Mile 97 reappeared in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and began releasing volumes of limited-edition and internet-only electroacoustic compositions of a more organic bent.
Mile 97 can be found online at archive.org, www.facebook.com, myspace.com.
