MICKY is the moniker under which singer and songwriter Michael Persall creates soul music with a classic pop and rock aftertaste.
Known for his vibrant and energetic stage performances, MICKY has asserted himself as a true frontman while playing with his band around New York City. Growing up in a Bed and Breakfast in the Bay Area, California, MICKY was exposed to a wide variety of people and tastes at a young age. He began performing the classics his parents turned him onto regularly for guests staying at the Bed and Breakfast, leading him to discover his love for performing. By high school, he started writing his own music on guitar and piano, as well as recording Hip-Hop influenced tracks. MICKY's music is best described as genre-bending and multi-generational in appeal, citing influences from Elvis, James Brown, and The Rolling Stones, to Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Usher, and Outkast. He recently accomplished a goal of performing over 400 shows in 2015, ending up at 408 gigs total in the year. He is fresh off residencies in NYC at Pianos and Rockwood Music Hall, headlining The Studio at Webster Hall, a hit for Communion NYC, and multiple Sofar Sounds gigs. MICKY released his debut single, "Candid" early 2017, and it has quickly reached over a million streams. Looking ahead, MICKY is working on his debut EP while serving as Managing Director for Treble.FM.
