Biography
Hailing from just north of Miami, Tyler Newberry (Metis 9) has been active since 2007 under "Soundcurve", producing Hip-Hop/Jazz/Breakbeat fusion, and "HeroIS", producing Dubstep. The south-florida bred producer now works with a slew of genres including Moombahton, Electro House, Dubstep, and Glitch Hop.
Metis 9's style and influences come from classic Hip-hop and modern underground EDM artists, blending into his main genre of Moombahton in a variety of ways. Sampling and scratching, slicing and dicing, chopping and screwing, Metis 9's style is constantly changing with new genre exploration.
2012 saw the independent release of the "Hands Up EP", and he is now featured on one of the UK's top independent online radio stations, Dandelion Radio, as a regular session guest and rotating artist. Newberry is also a gig-bound DJ playing everything from house parties to clubs along Florida's east coast and a strong supporter of the Moombahton movement.
