Matt Deighton was Mother Earth’s singer, guitarist, front man and chief songwriter.
His first solo album, Villager, released in 1995, was something very different though. Deighton immersed himself in the music of Nick Drake, John Martyn and Davy Graham, which inspired an exquisite album of gentle mellow English songs
