as someone who was so blown away by their last tour, it was an out-of-body experience and remains one of the best shows I’ve ever seen – the mezzanine gig I saw was disappointing. No passion, badly translated political slogans (this wasn’t the case three years ago – this round it came off as lazy), there seemed to be hardly any coherence to the whole thing. I didn’t HATE it as the rest of the audience did (they were booed, and social media response was scathing), but it was a forgettable performance. Too bad, I’d been looking forward to this a lot.
Same here, it was my first time listening this beautiful band live, i miss them even when they played in Bristol so this time here in Milan i was excited. I don't know: it was magical seeing Robert and Marshall, Handy and Elizabeth, but, yeas, something was missing. Maybe was the audience who is not ready for MA's vibes, maybe it's Mezzanine vibes that is not built to be displayed for the public, but only by ourselves, maybe MA messages in 2019 doesn't have the same impact. I don't know, but something was missing.
Paradise Circus,
Massive Attack.. still massive... always massive, forever massive! Thank you, Massive Attack! For attending my whole life since "Unfinished Sympathy" and the Blue Lines! Thank you for your massive live gigs, from the past to the present! Thank you for your quality albums, your flashy videos, your inspiring art design, your whole attitude! You are one of the top 5 Bands of all time! Yes you are! Contradictions are not allowed. P.S: What about a collaboration with THE KLF, Neneh Cherry, The Cure and Burial? I would die with a big smile on my face.. Over and out..To your health! Skoal!
nope. i had someone from bristol confirm to me it's definitely not. the theory that it's del naja because banksy sightings coincided with massive attack concert dates is moot because banksy simply might've sent him the stencils just like how he sends it to other people. he's not someone that's in the public sphere, apparently
Not that I'm saying it IS him, as I have no idea, but Goldie seemingly dropped Del Naja in it last year https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/banksy-identity-revealed-goldie-interview-robert-del-naja-massive-attack-art-a7804091.html - in addition to the Massive Attack gigs/Banksy sightings.
