With the help of Jorge Millet, Pepo Talavera, The Correctional Department and the inmates this album was possible. Marvin was serving a prison sentence for drug-related charges at the time of this album's recording and it does (to some degree) chronicle both his feelings and his experiences while imprisoned. Needless to say, Marvin was one of the greatest and most flexible improvising salsa soneros and this wonderful CD reissue places him in the pantheon reserved for such legends as Hector Lavoe, Pete "Conde" Rodriguez, Ismael Rivera and Miguelito Valdes (among others).
