"Orange Trees" was written by Welsh singer-songwriter MARINA. It is the third track from her fourth studio album, LOVE + FEAR. On Tuesday 12, 2019, the length of the track was revealed on iTunes to be 3:07. The emojis to promote Orange Trees were the tangerine and the deciduous tree: 🍊🌳.

In September 2018 she put lyrics of the song on her Heals Spaces exhibition. In January of 2019 the song was registered, with three Swedish artists listed as "composer/author". We can safely assume Orange Trees was written when Marina was writing in Stockholm, Sweden in May of 2018. Marina shared a short snippet of the song on her Instagram story on Valentines Day 2019 along with the tracklist of her fourth studio album.

The song was written by Marina, Jacob Jerlström, Oscar Görres, and Erik Hassle, but only produced by Görres.

Marina has said that "I wrote “Orange Trees” about the island that my family and I are from in Greece. It’s called Lefkada and it’s my favourite place in the world… I always feel at peace there. It’s like my body/ biology recognises I’m back home."
