Biography
Many summers ago, Vishal Manglani and Jeremy Garber strived to start a band that would combine the gritty riffs and monstrous breakdowns of the metalcore they grew up on mixed with tasteful and driving melodies. Man The Ramparts took years to evolve from a mere vision but hard work and the production expertise of Greg Tomao of The Tomato Farm Studio allowed the band to write and revise their music to achieve a unique identity.
Man The Ramparts’ first release, an EP entitled Archaic, will certainly take many by surprise and help differentiate the band from those active in the current Long Island music scene. Archaic refers to the seemingly ancient ethic that bands should write and play music for themselves, instead of trying to fit a predetermined mold. Most recently, bassist Michael Grippo has been added to the lineup and vocalists Ryan Harvey (of Catharsis Studios) and Dave DiPrimo (ex-Destiny Or Design) lent their talents to the EP. It is important to note that Man The Ramparts are still looking for a full-time vocalist!
With Vishal and Jeremy handling lyrics on Archaic, topics addressed include letting go of your demons (“The ghosts of our past line up to walk the plank” – Deep Sea Salvage) and the downfall of self-centeredness (“Vanity is not an alibi, the burning truth will soon be revealed” – Fear Not The Thorns). Man The Ramparts are ready to make their mark on the scene. Slowing down is simply not an option.
